So today was a half day of school..I love half days at BSA..because we just go in and have theatre and then it's time to go home. So today I just went in for Richard's 4 hour class and then left. And went to Panera. And then went to get a flu shot. My arm is really sore now..and afterwards when I came home I slept for like an hour. But it felt like more. It was really weird. I guess I was just sleeping really deeply; I dunno. Buuut anyway.
My house is freeeeeezingg.
I feel icky.
Feeling icky + a freezing house = not a good time.

We were working on Stanislavsky and Sense Memory, and at first I felt like that girl from A Chorus Line, you know, the one who sings "Nothing", but then..I FELT THE STEAM!! AND I TASTED THE LEMON!! well, kinda. but yeah. I pretty much did.

Oh migod why does my back always hurt??? Actually, it's not my whole back, just one spot..ever since House of Bernarda Alba when I had to walk in that weird way, it starts hurting at random times. Seriously. Maybe it's a stress thing, or..I don't know lol.
Believe it or not, but last week one of the main reasons for my missing RP a little bit was actually having lots of hw to do. I know, lol. Last week, I didn't have that much at all, and I didn't think that the academic teachers seemed that enthused. But now it's the second week, and I suddenly have all this stuff to do, which makes me feel a lot better. God, I never thought I'd say that. Right now I'm taking a break from studying for an American Government quiz (most exciting class of my life, let me tell you. ugh), and a Spanish and Math quiz. I also have to write this paper for English. I already did my Play of the Month for theatre, though, which is good. Now all the theatre stuff I have to be aware of are two movement characterization type things, one due on the 16th and one at the end of the month. So yeah. We did crunches yesterday in Movement and all this stretching..which was weird. Not terribly bad or anything, but I was like good god..lol..Sure beats Fitness Testing, though. Oh, and I can't wait to hear all about the first few days of school for all you RPCSers!! :)

"And on Monday, don't think of it as the first day of school..

..think of it as the first day of your CAREER."

Wow.

And just because, I would like to add that the director of the school mentioned that they have a 0 tolerance level for drugs or alcohol of any kind. They don't have a lot of that there; not more than any other school at least. So..that's for all the people that told me to "watch out" for all the "druggies" at BSA who are going to try to slip me cocaine in the halls.

As Stanley Kowalski would say, "HA HA." lol

Not that I would even do drugs anyway...:)

So today I had what's called a "bridge" theatre workshop at BSA. Beforehand I was actually pretty nervous, but it ended up as being really fun. The theatre teachers seem nice, and I must say that I'm looking forward to learning some interesting acting stuff over the course of my time there. I really like the other kids in the ensemble so far..some of them couldn't make it, so not everyone was there. I'm one of 2 tenth graders in the ensemble (if you come in as a sophmore, you have to be in the freshman ensemble, and then you move up to your grade level's ensemble the next year usually), so that was kind of weird. Everyone else was a freshman. But it was cool....and a workout lol. We did all of these different exercises that would probably take a toll on anybody if they did them for 4 hours...which we did...haha...However, there was an upside to that: I now know how to be in "actor neutral", or "neutral stance" (I can't remember which one it is), and what "milling and seething" means. Whew.

Tomorrow my parents and I have to go to an orientation. And then school is on Monday. That kind of scares me, but I feel better about it after today. We get our schedules the first day of school, though. The FIRST DAY. *That* makes me a little nervous. I've never done that before. But c'est la vie.

Oh yeah, and since I was really bored, my new journal layout (aside from the Natalie Wood GYPSY icon) has the theme of "A Streetcar Named Desire", the movie (and play) that I am currently obsessed with lol. Vivien Leigh is A.MAZ.ING. She, like, rules the world. I'm serious. Even though she's dead... In Streetcar she's absolutely insane. I love it. One of the best pieces of acting I've ever seen. Ever. It's craaazy...

I've found that I am totally bored lately. Maybe that means that it really is time to go back to school...but still. Usually I just sit around trying to find something to do. It was so easy in June, when I had Driver's Ed (which was really boring, but still, something to do lol) and Mikado. And then in July, when I had Mikado and Summer On Stage. Now I'm doing Gypsy, but since we just started rehearsing, we haven't done much so far. Yesterday I went to a dance rehearsal and we choreographed "Together, Wherever We Go", and that was fun. I like Jan and Chuck (who play Mama Rose and Herbie); they're pretty cool..so yeah. That's pretty much my life now, until I start school. I ordered this book from amazon.com called "Gypsy: Memoirs of America's Most Celebrated Stripper" (or something), and it was written by Gypsy Rose Lee. It's supposed to come around Wednesday, and I can't wait to read it. Just for a little character research...plus my own enjoyment. :) icon credit goes to __stillmemories.

I haven't updated on this thing for SO long! It's really insane. But anyway. I guess I've been pretty busy lately...Summer On Stage lasted until the end of July, then I went on vacation to Cape May, which was really fun. I adore Cape May. All those colorful victorian houses are amazing. I want to live in one lol. And the school year is quickly approaching. I start school on the 29th, which seems unbelievably early, doesn't it? When I found out I was like, "uugggh, that's way too early to start school!", but then I got really excited because it's BSA and I'll be doing theatre like 24/7, and that'll be awesome I'm sure. However, I must admit that I am getting really nervous. Excited-nervous, though, not, like, dreading it nervous. I have a workshop and orientation next week, so that'll be a good chance to get to know some of the people I'll be working with and everything. And Emily B and I have talked a lot about BSA in general so she's kind of given me the lowdown, which makes me feel more comfortable about it. I mean, it's going to be a huge switch. But I do think I'm ready for it...and I know it'll probably be a somewhat hard adjustment at first, like anytime you make a big change in your life. It's just that I don't know what to expect...well, I do *somewhat*, but another part of me is wondering what it's really going to be like.
